Born in Paris, Patrick began performing in various settings such as the Jules Verne Restaurant on top of the Eiffel Tower and was broadcast live on Radio France. Besides performances, he studied music a the Leyat Institute in France.
In the early 70s, Patrick became interested in writing songs in collaboration with Jean Marc Beluze, a lyricist living in Paris. Out of this work, he produced an album, going to London to record background vocals and rhythm section of one track by Joe Coker's musicians.
Upon arriving in the United States in the 80's, he continued his studies at Kingsborough College in Brooklyn, NY, receiving a B.A. and an MA in Teaching (M.A.T.) from Lehman College in the Bronx, NY.
In 1987, Patrick along with Dominic Duval (bass) and Tony Lupo (drums) recorded the album The Paris-Manhattan Trio "Interplay". Between 1990 and 1994 he performed regularly in Upstate New York clubs and restaurants. During that period, a new group was formed -- The Chabak Trio -- with Christopher Dean Sullivan (bass), Henning Stumm (drums) and Patrick (piano) where they recorded an album on his Voyage Music label.
In 1999, "Comfort Me Blue" was recorded with Akira Tana (drums) and Sean Smith (bass) on his Voyage Music label. In 2019, two recordings were released -- "Fun In The Alley" with the NEEMA Quintet featuring original compositions by Patrick Poladian; and "Expressions", Patrick Poladian on solo piano.
In addition to performing in the Greater Lehigh Valley and the Tri-State Area, for the past 15 years, Patrick has served as musical director/accompanist at Unity East Church Center in Brooklyn, NY, performing both traditional and gospel music. Between 2000 and 2002, he served as Adjunct Professor at Passaic Community College in Paterson, NJ, teaching piano and music history, and participated in music clinics and performance for high school charter schools in Jersey City, NJ.
Other highlights include serving as musical director of the show "Not Just Another Pretty Face" led by Mercer Ellington, the "Wildflower - The Benefit Project" CD created to benefit children and women in domestic violence situations; coordinated a benefit evening for Haitian Relief from Poladian's Palladium, a music studio/ instruction and performance space in downtown Easton.
